The winemaking company Abrau-Durso will begin supplying red wine to the Chinese airline China Eastern Airlines, Kommersant reports, citing representatives of the holding.
According to the company, 36,000 bottles of still red wine will be offered to passengers on domestic and international flights starting summer 2025. This marks the first time Russian wine will appear on the flight menu of a foreign airline.
Previously, Abrau-Durso supplied sparkling wine to Aeroflot, with volumes reaching 30,000 bottles in 2024. The partnership began in 2022.
The company reported that in 2024, Abrau-Durso sold 66.86 million bottles, an 18% increase compared to the previous year. Revenue grew by 26% to 15.79 billion rubles, and net profit rose 43% to 1.83 billion rubles.
