Russian wine resort Abrau-Dyurso wins prestigious global enotourism award

The Abrau-Dyurso wine resort near Novorossiysk has been recognized with the GWTO Award for best international enotourism practice. The award ceremony took place at the Second Global Summit in Yantai, China, according to the Ministry of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage of the Krasnodar Region.

Abrau-Dyurso outperformed wineries from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Uruguay, Chile, and Argentina.

The Ministry reports that Russia’s enotourism market attracted 2.5 million visitors in 2024, with Abrau-Dyurso accounting for about 600,000—nearly a quarter of the total market.

Abrau-Dyurso is a resort village within Novorossiysk consisting of two settlements, Abrau and Dyurso, separated by a small mountain pass. Abrau lies on the shores of Lake Abrau, the largest freshwater lake in Krasnodar Region, home to the famous sparkling wine factory. Dyurso is located on the sea coast between two cliffs.
